Located within a National Scenic Area (NSA), Lingay has three neighbouring islands, Gilsay, Groay and Scaravay. Located in the Sound of Harris between the Isle of Harris and North Uist, the island is approximately 3 miles from habitation at Leverburgh, Isle of Harris.
The abundant wildlife is able to thrive because of its remoteness, unique location and topography along with the work done for its management and protection. There are Common Seals, colonies of Grey Seals, Otters and many breeding and migratory birds.
From the Eastern side of the island, there are stunning uninterrupted views to the Isle of Skye.
